◆A Sensational Experience

A Sensational Experience

I know the name of this fruit and I like the taste of this fruit (becuase I’ve had it in juice), but I hadn’t actually seen it or cut it in my hand1 — blood oranges. Have you?
I got one blood orange by chance2. It seemed like a dark-colored navel orange without a navel3.
Since it was my first time to eat it at my house, I waited for the right moment. I excitedly cut it late at night, in the kitchen, alone.
   Oh, boy! It was unreal4!
As I stabbed the knife into5 the orange, a bl6od-like juice came runnning and dripping out6. Literally7, the color was like blood — dark red. It was like a horror movie! I had never had this kind of excitement before while having fruit.
If you haven’t experienced this, you should try it. It’s quite fun! Buy one and enjoy a bloody8 moment! You reeeeally understand its name.

1 in one’s hand  :
2 by chance  : 偶然
3 navel : へそ
4 unreal :
5 stab A into B : AをBに突き刺す
6 drip out : 滴る
7 literally :
8 bloody :
