Mini Spring House Project

   Finally I finished it! Not bad for a small budget¹ project, huh?

   Why "finally"? …because I started working on² this during the New Year’s holidays and it had been on hold³ since then. While I was on spring break from my college job, one of my goals was to complete⁴ this project. However, I couldn’t do it. And finally, I did it on Friday night  — of course, I am a night owl⁵!

  I said "I" did it, but actually Will also added a finishing touch⁶. I fitted the wall paper on each panel, and Will took the bubbles out of it with pins and an iron to make the surface smooth.  

  Since I bought the wall paper at different stores because the first store was out of stock⁷, the colors look slightly⁸ different even though the product is just the same. That bothers⁹ me a bit, but for sure, it’s much better than the old dirty door and probably my eyes will get used to¹⁰ it.

  I made the backdrop paper removable, so when we want to chage that accent color depending on the season or the display, we can enjoy the change of atmospere¹¹. This is the best part of this project, I think. It is very true that a good idea will come if you stop thinking about it, so I don’t have to regret taking¹² so long to finish it!

  Now when students come, they don’t have to see those ugly doors! Yeah!

プチ・春のハウスプロジェクト

  やっと完成！少ない予算でやったにしてはまずまず、でしょ？

　なぜ「やっと」かって？…お正月休みにこれに取り掛かり、その後しばらく手付かず状態だったからです。専門学校が春休みだった間、やることリストの一つがこのプロジェクトを終わらせることだったのですが、それも出来ず。そして、やっと金曜日の“夜”に仕上げました — はい、もちろん、私は宵っ張りです！

　「わたし」がやったと言いましたが、本当はウィルも仕上げを手伝ってくれています。私が貼る場所ピッタリに壁紙を貼り付け、ウィルが針とアイロンを使って表面の凸凹を取りながら空気を出してくれました。

　一軒目に在庫がなく他の店で壁紙を買い足したら、物は同じなのに微妙に色合いが異なっていて。そこが気にはなるのですが、まあでも確実に、前の汚いドアを見ているよりはよっぽどまし。それに目も慣れてくるでしょうから。

　奥の部分を取り外し出来るようにしてみました。季節や置くものによってアクセントカラーを変えたいと思ったら、このコーナー全体の雰囲気を変えるのが楽しめるから。このプロジェクトで一番良かったところがそれ。考えるのを止めると、何か降りてくるは本当のよう。このプロジェクトは長い時間がかかったけれど、途中こんなアイディアに出くわしたので悪く思わなくてもいいか？

　これで、生徒の方たちが来たとき、あの醜いドアをもう見なくて済みます！ヤッター！
