One Sunday Afternoon in Spring

   Finally, spring is here! Just simply it’s getting warm and some nice bright sunlight is warming our faces — that’s enough to make us feel happy, isn’t it?

  This Sunday, the weather lured me out of¹ the house, I went out to play tennis for 2 hours in the morning and went to a nice cafe in the afternoon to meet my friend.

  She just came back from her trip to Myanmar. When she showed up, I saw she had gotten a tan². She said the sun was really strong there. In the daytime, the temperature went up really high, like into the high 30s and sometimes it got to 40 degrees. She also told me people in Myanmar are shy but nice.

  It was fun to hear about the trip. Not only that, I got a souvenir³, too! It is made using seeds⁴ that look like watermelon seed. This is so cute and pretty! I really liked it!

  I also gave her little presents for her birthday. Yes! We had a present-exchanging day. 

  Why do I have the photos of the presents that I already gave her? That’s because I also bought the same things for myself! Ha ha! You know that sometimes happens. I liked them so much that I couldn’t resisit getting⁵ the same things for myself. 

  Anyway, I enjoyed a nice Sunday afternoon!

春のある日曜の午後

  やっと、春が来ました！暖かくなってきて、暖かく明るい太陽が顔に当たる、それだけで気分がよくなりますよね。

　この日曜日、そんな陽気に誘われるように家を飛び出して、午前中は２時間テニス、午後は友達に会いにカフェへ出掛けました。

　彼女はミャンマーへの旅行から帰って来たばかり。姿を見せるや否や、日焼けしたのに気付きました。日差しが強く、昼間は３０℃後半、時には４０℃近くまで気温が上がったそうです。ミャンマーの人たちは控え目で優しい人たちだったと話してました。

　楽しく旅行について話を聞きました。それだけではなく、お土産ももらいました。スイカのような種で作られているネックレス。可愛くてそれでもって素敵！とても気に入りました！

　そしてまた、私も彼女にちょっとしたお誕生日のプレゼントをあげました。そう、プレゼント交換の日になりました。

　何故、あげたはずのプレゼントの写真があるのかって？実は自分にも同じものを買っちゃったんです！ハハハ！身に覚えがある、でしょ？私も気に入って我慢出来なくなったんです。

  それはともかく、とても心地よい日曜の午後を過ごしました！
