Starting today1, there is an arts and crafts2 event at Mitsukoshi department store in Sendai. Our friend from Canada, who has been our friend for 16 years, is showing her work there along with3 many other artists.
I visited her today.
She mainly uses metal and resin4 with a very soft color scheme5. Her taste has a zen-like6 quietness but there is also some kind of energy flow7 that no doubt gives everyone a soothing8 feeling.

You know what I mean by "soothing"? These are brooches but also they can be pendants.( Fun! ) The top one in this picture has two fish under the resin. I liked it very much because a touch9 of orangish red adds a little spice10 to it.
Her paintings are also displayed. If you have some time, please go and enjoy her artwork! In addition to her stuff11, there is a lot more: decoupage, leather, woodcraft, glasswork, whatever you can call "arts and crafts". It will be on through this Sunday !

友人の作品！
今日から、仙台の三越で手工芸品のイベントが行われています。私たちのカナダ出身の友人、１６年のつきあいがある友だちですが、彼女が他のアーティストと一緒に、作品を出しています。
今日行ってきました。
彼女は主に金属と樹脂を使います。とても優しい色使いと共に。彼女のテイストには、禅の世界のような静けさの中に、なにかエネルギーの流れを感じさせるものがあり、見る人みんなが癒しの感覚を覚えること間違いなし。
これが彼女の作品のいくつかです。見てください！
「癒し」と呼んだのがお分かりになりますよね。これらはブローチですが、ペンダントヘッドとしても使えます。（いいですね～！）この写真の一番上の作品は、樹脂の下に二匹魚が描かれています。ちょっとの朱色が全体に趣を付け加えていて、私はとてもステキだと思いました。
彼女の絵も飾られています。もしお時間があれば、ぜひ行って彼女の作品を楽しんでみてください。この他にも、デコパージュや革製品、木工品、ガラス細工などなど、手工芸品と呼べるものは何でも、たくさん出品されていましたよ。今度の日曜日までやっています。
