Our Small Totoro Garden

   This is the nicest season to enjoy outdoor flowers. Our small garden in the English garden style (It is so convenient to put it this way¹ to camouglage² our laziness about gardening.) is now giving us a lot of soothing³ energy. ( Oh, this is an oxymoron⁴! Remember? Like jumbo shrimp, a bit big, etc. See our blog on 8/30/14)

   As usual, I went on a flower shopping spree⁵ with my friend during Golden Week (Literally "shopping spree" budgetwise⁶ and timewise. I left home at 9 o’clock in the morning and came back at 9 o’clock!) and after that I slowly planted them in pots or directly in the ground and they are finally in their spots now. 

  Our garden is a bit bushy⁷ because we use a lot of ground cover to avoid⁸ the labor of weeding⁹, so It looks as if Totoro might live here somewhere!
 

  … First, we go in from a mysterious entrance,

  … The garden gradually appears in front of us.  

      
  … and here is our garden! but since it’s so tiny, it just takes 3 seconds!

  Well, but we enjoy these flowers…

  and these flowers …

everyday.

私たちの小さなトトロの庭

  この季節は、戸外の花を楽しむには最高の時期ですね。イングリッシュガーデン風（面倒くさがり屋であまり手を掛けない私たちをうまくごまかせる便利な言葉）のうちの小さな庭も、今たくさんの落ち着きと癒しのエネルギーを与えてくれています！（お、矛盾する言葉が同時に並ぶ言い方！覚えてますか？大きなエビ（大小）、少し大きい（小大）、など。→２０１４.８.３０のブログ）

　毎年のように、今年も友人とゴールデンウィークに花の大ショッピングデーに出掛けた私。（文字通り、予算的にも時間的にも“大”でした（笑）。９時に家を出て、９時に帰宅！）そして、このあと少しずつ鉢植えや地植えにしていき、やっと全て定位置に落ち着いたところです。

　私たちの庭は、草取りの手間を省こうとグラントカバーを多く使っているので、ちょっと茂った感じの庭です。だから、どこかにトトロが住んでいそうに見えます。

　…まず、謎の入口をくぐり、

　…目の前に庭が広がってきて、

　…これが庭です！でも、とても小さい庭なので、ここまでたったの３秒です！

　でも、こんな花や

　あんな花を、毎日楽しんでいます。

　トトロには、まだ会っていません…
