I got a lucky number!!
On Saturday, after my long working day, I had no energy to cook. Since I finished my day with outside classes, I decided to drop by2 the co-op3 on my way home.
I picked up4 a pack of sushi, some potato salad, and some other stuff5 (Oh, yes! I also bought a persimmon6 for the first time this season!) and went to the cashier.
The cashier scanned the items in my basket and said, "It comes to 777 yen." First, I didn’t noticed anything special, but the next moment I said to her, "Wow, I got a good number!"
The nice young cashier also said, "Yes — You’re lucky! I hope something good happens to you today." And before you could say Jack Robinson7, she said to me, "IT DID! You get this!" handing me a 300-yen coupon which the machine just spit out8.
That whole thing blew off9 my fatigue of the day quickly and I jumped on10 my bike and headed home11 feeling so nice!

１ repeated digitsの略。ただし、必ずしもこの表現を使う訳ではなくthe same numbersでも十分使えます。
７ 慣用表現。Jack Robinsonの部分にちょっと長い言葉を入れれば、同じ意味を持つ表現として成り立つそうです。

ラッキーナンバー出ました!!
土曜日、仕事で長い一日を過ごした後、料理をするエネルギーが残っていなかった私。外で教えるクラスで終わる日なので、帰りに生協に寄ることにしました。
お寿司のパックとポテトサラダとその他諸々（そう！この季節初物の柿も買いました！）をカゴに入れて、レジまで行きました。
レジ係の人が私のカゴの商品をスキャンして、「７７７円になります。」と言いました。初めは、何も気付かずいつもと同じようにしていた私ですが、次の瞬間、「あら、いい数が出ましたね！」と思わず話し掛けていました。
その若いレジ係の女性もまた、「ついてますね！何かいいことがあるといいですね！」と話し掛けてくれました。そしたら、その直後に、「いいことありましたよ！こちら！」と、レジの機械から出てきたばかりの３００円のクーポン券を私に手渡してくれました。
この出来事で、一日の疲れが全部吹っ飛んでしまい、私は自転車に飛び乗って、気持ちよ～く家に向かったのでした。
