    Little by little, we have been planting flowers in our garden. It seems that we are coming close to the end for now, I mean for spring.

 

   Since last year, Will has been fascinated by¹ Echinacea and he is making a collection of Echinacea up in front of our house on the river side.

 

   Me, I always like to try many different kinds on top of² my basic favorite flowers which I know to be OK for our garden. Since I didn’t know if I could go flower shopping with my friend during Golden Week as we usually do, I started collecting a few flowers from nurseries³ and little flower shops in my neighborhood.
　

   Luckily, it turned out that during Golden Week my friend and I could go flower shopping⁴ as usual. Last year, we had to cancel it — because of the pandemic⁵ –but this year, after waiting until the last moment to make the final decision, we decided to go.

 

  Usually, we go to several nurseries in one car, spending a whole day, but this year we drove separately to one nursery, got together there and spent a couple of hours together. Then we said good-bye and drove home⁶ in our own cars⁷. It was short but great fun!

  

  Then came the fun labor⁸ of planting and arranging the new flowers with the ones that came back (←this is also exciting!) — and getting our hands dirty! Now we will enjoy watching our garden becoming rich. What fun!!
