Trip to Seattle 2

Trip to Seattle 2

We went to the beach to take a walk, which is just a 10-minute walk1 from our house. Will’s family used to live in Seattle, but now they live on one of the islands around Seattle. I didn’t know that before, but the Seattle and Vancouver area has LOTS of islands. When you see the map, it’s divided into2 small pieces just like the cracks3 of an old person’s heel, especially north of the Canadian border. Geographically4 it’s got a very interesting shape!

Anyway, when we are here, we often enjoy walking on the beach. Especially when we have low tide5, it’s really fun to be out
there.

You can find some crabs if you flip a big rock.
You can see a water shooting show on the sand here and there, which is performed by clams below the surface.

Maybe it was in summer a long time ago, I saw quite a few6 huge thingies7 sticking out of the sand. I was so surprised to get to know8 they were clams! You know what we call "an incurrent siphon" and "an excurrent siphon" ? Holly Toledo!!9 About 10cm of those thick ones were sticking out of the sand. Oh, can you imagine how big they are? I almost fainted.
~(+0+)~

This time, thanks to Will’s brother’s girlfriend, we saw sea anemones10. They were about 4 cm in diameter
. When I touched them, they gave me a kissing greeting and shyly hid their feelers11.

pink ones, too

・・・and while I was enjoying that, Will’s brother’s dog, a black lab, was trying hard to hide a long stick in the sand. He tried in one spot, and it didn’t work. He tried in another spot, and again it didn’t work. Well, I think it’s a difficult task for him to make a perfect long and thin hole for that stick, but he never gave up on this "the railroad track goes on forever" project.  "Hang in there! Do not give up ! "— I believe that’s his motto10. He reminds me that people shouldn’t forget  that spirit

 Way to go12, Saber !!
