Did you know? The sign & has a name . I got to know1 that recently, and so did Will2. (To be correct3, Will was first.)
Recently, it seems that Will bumped into4 this topic somehow, and he was talking about it in the car. I went "Wow!."
That symbol’s name is ampersand. It is a stylized5 form of "et", which is "and" in Latin and French, too.
In some fonts, you can tell that it is the combination of the letters E and T. Can you see it? &
When I was brushing my teeth before I went to bed, I found an ampersand which clearly shows the E and T right in front of me!!!

アンパーサンド
ご存じでしたか？＆という記号に名前があったって。私は最近知りました。そして、ウィルも。（正確に言うと、ウィルが先ですが…）
最近、ウィルが何かの機会にこのトピックに触れたようで、車の中の会話で出てきたんです。私も思わず、「へ～！」でした。
この記号の名前はアンパーサンド。"et"の文字から作られたそうです。"et"というのは、ラテン語またフランス語でも「そして/ と」という意味です。
フォントによっては、ＥとＴの文字の組み合わせであることが見てとれます。＆・・・見えますか？
就寝前に歯を磨いていたら、まさに目の前に！ＥとＴがはっきり見えるアンパーサンドが。
