Belated Summary of Our Summer 2
continued ・・・
Even though I call it a "belated" summer report by the calendar, wasn’t it amazing that just until recently we had weather like summer? The heat of this summer was really something, huh? Now I’m so glad that it finally started cooling down.
At the same time1, my passion to finish this summary could cool down just like the weather if I don’t finish it now, so let me finish summarinzing2 our summer briefly and quickly.
Following 1 and 2 in the first half of the summary・・・
3. We painted the ceiling.
We had been putting off3 this project for a long time. Finally we attacked the 4th and last ceiling ( I hope ! ) Two of us worked together and it took half a day4. If only Will or me tried to do it alone, not only couldn’t we finish in one day, but probably we would’t be able to lift our head the next day5.
I didn’t buy mat type paint by mistake6, so the ceiling is a bit shiny. ( Shoot ! ) Oh, well, nobody will notice.
It feels so nice that we did something to better our living environment7. It is also kind of nice that we can see the achievement8 and still enjoy it.
Other than the 3 projects,
●We had an annual summar party.
●I finished another saxophone book and moved on to a new one.
●I started tennis.( Finally I started some exercise as one of my "anti-aging" projects. I’ve got to stay healthy for my family and for myself ! — Is it just an excuse!? /(^-^;) )
We didn’t go anywhere this summer, but when I look back, it was not so bad ! We filled our time. The bathroom tissue holder, the half moon-shaped carpet patch, and the ceiling — Now that summer is finished, we are benefitting9 from those projects in our daily life.

※1 sameはぴったり同じもの・ことを指すのでtheで限定。それに対して、similarは似ている範疇に入ればいい訳ですから、いろいろ可能性が出てくるので、取り合えず１つを指すaで十分。定冠詞・不定冠詞を意識するいい対比かと思います。ちなみに、at the same timeは時にHowever,ぐらいの意味にも使えます。
※5 こちらもtheの重要性を意識したい表現。たとえば、next week と言えば「今という基準」から先を見て「来週」となりますが、the next weekと言えば「今」ではない「ある特定の基準」から先を見て「翌週」となります。こちらは、the following weekでもＯＫです！

遅くなった 夏のまとめ（２）
続き・・・
暦を見て「遅くなった」夏の報告と呼んでいるものの、つい最近まで夏のような天気が続いていたのには驚きましたよね。今年の夏の暑さは本当にスゴかった、と思いませんか？やっと涼しくなり始めてくれてホントに幸せ。
でも、同時に、今やっておかないと、このまとめのブログを終わらせる自分の気持ちも天候と同じように冷めてきそうなので、手短にさっさとこの夏にやったことをまとめてしまいましょ。
前半のまとめの１、２に続き・・・
３．天井のペンキ塗りをしました。
このプロジェクトは長いあいだ先送りにしてきました。やっと、４ヶ所めにして（願わくば！）最後の天井を終了させました。私たち二人で取り組んで、半日かかりました。もし、これをウィルか私かが一人でやろうとしたら、一日で終わらないばかりか、次の日頭をまっすぐに上げることも出来ないでしょうね。
間違ってつや消しのペンキを買わなかったので、天井がちょっとピカピカ。（ん～！） ま、でも、誰も気づかないかな。
生活がより心地よくなることをして、とてもいい気持ち。そしてそれを見ながら、そのあとも楽しんでいられるのも、またなんかいいもんです。
３つのプロジェクトの他に、
●毎年恒例のパーティーをしました。
●サックスのテキストが次の新しいテキストに進みました。
●テニスを始めました。（「歳を取らない」計画の一つであった運動にやっと着手しました。家族のためにも、自分のためにも、健康でいなくちゃ！— というのは弁解かな！？/(^-^;) ）
この夏、私たちはどこにも行きませんでしたが、振り返ってみると、そう悪くもなかった、かな？それなりに充実した生活でした。トイレットペーパーホルダー、半月のかたちのカーペット、天井 — もう夏は終わったけど、毎日の生活の中で夏のプロジェクトの恩恵を今も満喫しています。
