Berries!
First, I’m sorry. Recently I’m a bit behind1 on my blog. January and February are one of my busiest times of the year, but at least, I’ll try 2 times a month!
Today, I’m going to show you some berries, but not edible2 ones like strawberries, blueberries and rapsberries3 — instead berries which we enjoy looking at.
About 2 weeks ago, when it was freezing cold4, I just couldn’t stand the cold weather and went out to our garden to look for some hope for5 spring to live through6 that cold time.
You know, Nature is amazing. Even when outside is still cold, plants start producing tiny buds on their branches. Sometimes they are so tiny, but the smaller they are, the more7 I admire8 their energy!
As I looked around at the plants in our little garden, I spotted some lapis Lazuli-like shiny dark blue berries hidden between the dark green whiskerish9 leaves of what we call Tamaryu, dwarf Dragon’s Whisker.
Oh my, oh my! Almost every plant has got blue gems inside. They are like pearls. (You can’t see what a wonderful thing is inside from the outside!)
I was so excited and started looking around to find some other berries in our garden. Here they are:
Red berries on the Heavenly Bamboo (Nanten).
Still greenish berries on the Japanese laurel (Aoki).
Other red berries on the English Holly.
and I haven’t planted it outside yet, but some white berries on our Snowberry.
Oh, no! Now talking10 about berries, I remember 3 months ago I wanted to buy a plant with berries called Big Berry. It was so cute, but I didn’t buy it because there is no more place to plant — That’s what Will says to me f(^-^;), but now I remember that plant, I want it again. Help!

実もの！
まず初めに、ゴメンなさい。最近ブログがちょっと遅れ気味。１月、２月はちょっと一年の中でも忙しい時でして…、でも、少なくとも月２回は書きます！
今日は、ベリーをお見せしようと思います。と言っても、ストロベリー、ブルーベリー、ラズベリーなどの食べるベリーではなく、見て楽しむベリー（実）です。
２週間ほど前のとても冷えていた頃、寒さに耐えられなくなって、この季節を乗り切るため、何か春へ気持ちをつなぐものを探そうと庭に出てみました。
自然ってすごいですよね。外はまだ寒くても、植物は枝に小さな蕾を付け始めます。本当にちっちゃな蕾も見つけます。それが小さければ小さいほど、植物の持つエネルギーに感服します！
そんな風に庭で植物を眺めていた時、タマリュウ（リュウノヒゲの小型種）の濃い緑色をしたツンとしたヒゲっぽい葉の間に隠れるラピス・ラズリのようなピカピカの濃い青の実を発見！
まあ何と！一株毎、奥に青い宝石が。真珠のようです。（外からは中にどれだけ素敵なものがあるのか分からないというのが似てる！）
楽しくなって、庭に他にどんな実ものがあったか見て回りました。それがこちら：
南天の赤い実。
アオキのまだ青い実。
イングリッシュ・ホーリーの赤い実。
そして、まだ外には植えていないスノーベリーの白い実。
あぁ、ダメ！実ものの植物のことを話していたら、３ヶ月前に買いたかった（けど我慢した）ビッグベリーという実のなる植物を思い出してしまいました。とても可愛かったのですが、植える場所がもうない（ウィルがいつも私に言う言葉 f(^-^;) ）ので買わなかった植物。思い出したら、また欲しくなってしまった。助けて～！
