That Was Miki-chan!

  Do you remember that Will was excited to see a stork¹ for the first time in his life? You can follow the story in our blog 2 issues ago. It was about the stork that Will and his friend saw near here.

  Just recently, she was on the local news! She is Miki-chan, one of the three storks which were freed² in Noda, Chiba on July 23. She is very special.

 Will also asked his birder friend and learned there are 83 free-flying³ storks in Japan. And right now we might still have a chance to see one of them, Miki-chan, near here . 

  Isn’t that cool? I want to see her, too.

未来ちゃんでした！

　ウィルが人生で初めてコウノトリを見て喜んでいた話を覚えていますか？２号前のブログを読むと分かります。この近くでウィルと友人が見たコウノトリについて書いています。

　つい最近、そのコウノトリが地元のニュースで取り上げられていました。７月２３日に千葉県野田市で放鳥された３羽のうちの１羽だそうです。特別な子ですね。

　ウィルが鳥を観察している友人に尋ねたところ、今日本には自然の中で生息しているコウノトリ８３羽いると教えてもらいました。その中の１羽、未来ちゃんにこの近辺で会えるチャンスがまだあるかも知れませんよ。

　いいですね～。私も未来ちゃんを見てみたい。
