An Update of the Guitar Project
I mentioned1 about the guitar project that Will and my French teacher are doing on this blog dated back2 on May 15. Slowly but surely3 it has been progressing and now it’s getting close to4 the end.
It is of course custom-built5, so it is really original. Since Will loves birdwatching, they decided to put a bird design on top of the guitar. Look at this! It’s so cool.
I’ve been watching them work on this project and it has been really fun to see each process. They ordered pieces of wood from Japan and Australia, and the project started with just square boards and one long piece of wood.
… and now it came this far!
The rough6 wood became really smooth and shiny. Will did some "homework" and applied7 stain8 and rubbed9 it with a soft rag. Not just once — he has done it 4 times for the body and 10 times for the neck. They are so beautiful! I can’t wait to see the whole guitar!
It is so much fun to see what’s gonna happen next — but it’s also kind of sad to see the end is coming. Too bad!10

ギター製作の最新情報
以前５/１５のブログでウィルと私のフランス語の先生が取り組んでいるギター製作のプロジェクトについてお伝えしました。ゆっくりでも着実に進展しています。そして、だんだん終わりに近づいて来ました。
もちろんオーダーメイドなので、全くのオリジナルです。ウィルがバードウォッチングが好きなので、上の部分に鳥のデザインを入れることにしたんです。見てください！カッコいいでしょ。
二人がこのギター製作を進めるのをずっと見て来て、それぞれの工程を見るのは本当に楽しいです。日本やオーストラリアから板を注文するところからスタートし、このプロジェクトは２枚の四角い板と１本の長い木の棒から始まりました。
…今はここまで来ました。
そのままの木肌だった板がとっても滑らかでつやつやになりました。ウィルはニスを縫って柔らかい布でこするという「宿題」をしました。それも一回だけではなくギター本体部分は４回、ネックの部分には１０回施しました。とってもキレイに仕上がりました！ギターの完成品を見るのが待ち遠しいです！
次に何が起こるのかを見るのはとっても楽しみ — でも、この楽しいギター製作が終わりになってしまうと思うとそれもまた何だか寂しいです。残念！
