  I have been taking a private French lesson from exchange students at Tohoku University for a long time, maybe more than 15 years? I don’t need a real "teacher". If they are sincere¹ and teach me how they speak French in their usual life, that’s all I want. It has been interesting to meet different French people and understand what they are like², both as French people and also as individuals³. 

 

  Of course, it’s more fun when we share the same interests. For example, the teacher before my present teacher was interested in learning the saxphone, so I introduced him to my saxophone teacher. Then, we met twice a week — once was for my French class, and the other was for our saxophone lessons because his lesson was scheduled just before mine.

 

  The present teacher is even more fun. He has been with me for the longest time and we are relaxed⁴ with each other. That’s one reason, the other being that he has become friends with⁵ Will, too! So we have all become friends.

 

  And now he and Will have a project together — building a guitar! He is a student but also a guitar maker. When he came over to our house, he was talking about his guitar making hobby and, to Will’s surprise⁶, he suggested he and Will make⁷ a guitar together. Of course, Will jumped at the chance⁸ (because he is interested in guitars, too.)

 

  Now he leaves his tools at our house, and they sometimes get together to work on it.

 

  Look! This is what they have been doing. Exciting!

 

  I will update this quitar project again some time soon.
