The Craft Fair 2013
This weekend there was a craft fair downtown. Our close friend, who is from Canada and has lived here for a long time, had a booth there, so we visited her.
It was drizzling1 a little bit, but the place was hopping with2 people. There were many stalls3 in the middle of the shopping mall. Some people put out4 wood work, some leather, pottery5, metal, glass…. There were many different kinds of arts and crafts6 and we were busy looking around and really enjoying each shop.

She makes very interesting jewelry with beads, metal, and resin7. She has great taste and I like her style! She also paints. *By the way, the guy who made her website also made our website. It’s interesting to see his work in a different style! I admire artsy people’s sense!
And also we had a happy surprise! We saw another friend displaying his stuff at this fair, too.
We have known him since he was very young. He studied crafts at university and started his career as a pottery maker. Will and I were just talking about him as we were walking along these stalls and THERE HE WAS! Amazing!!
I wanted to buy one of his coffee drippers, but he told me he is going to improve11 them. So I decided to wait.
Instead, these little creatures came home with us! Tooth pick holders.

クラフトフェア２０１３
この週末、街でクラフトフェアが開かれていました。カナダ出身でここに長く住んでいる私たちの親しい友人がブースを出すというので、行って来ました。
ちょっとしとしと雨が降っていましたが、フェアは賑わっていました。ショッピングモールの真ん中にはたくさん陳列台があり、木工品を出している人もいれば、皮製品を出している人、陶器、金属、ガラス工芸などなど、たくさんの種類の工芸品がありました。いろいろ見て回って、本当にそれぞれのお店を楽しんで来ました。
・・・そして、これが私たちの友人の出したブース。
彼女はビーズ、金属、樹脂でとても興味深いジュエリーを作ります。素敵なテイストを持っていて、私は彼女のスタイルがとても好きです！絵も描くんですよ。これらの写真ではよく分からないでしょうから、彼女の作品を味わうには直接見なくっちゃ。よく見てみたい方は、www.suzannesquires.comを見てみてください。（とても心落ち着く素敵なウェブサイトです。）
*ところで、彼女のHPを作った人は私たちのHPも作ってくれたんです。彼の仕事を異なったスタイルで見るのも面白いですよ。アートのセンスのある人ってスゴイなぁ！）
そして、嬉しいサプライズもありました！偶然もう一人私たちの友人が作品を出していたんです。
彼のことは、（今よりも！）ずっと若い頃から知っています。大学で工芸を学び、陶芸家になりました。ウィルと私がブースを見て歩きながら彼のことを話していたら、次の瞬間そこに彼がいたんです！ビックリ！
彼の作ったコーヒードリッパーを買いたいと思ったのですが、これからまだ進化しますと言われたので、待つことにしました。
だから、代わりにこちらの子たちを家にお持ち帰りしました。楊枝入れです。
