仙台 えいごの教室

  Early November, I went to Utsunomiya with my big band members and joined the jazz festival called Miya Jazz Inn. Some members, including¹ me!, went there together by the bullet train².

  Traveling with the band members made us feel as if³ it was a school graduation trip. Everybody had lunch on the train. I had a box lunch with Musubi Maru with harako meshi (salmon rice with salmon roe⁴ on top), colorful veggies⁵ and stuff⁶ and even a dessert to enjoy at the end. This lunch made my trip even more fun!

  From Utsunomiya Station, the venue⁷ was not so far. We played on the stage for about 40 minutes. After that, the people who were coming back together by the bullet train had Gyoza together while we were killing time⁸ waiting for our train.

  I also met my old student quickly at the station before we got on the bullet train back to Sendai. I used to teach her at college. To meet somebody away from home⁹ is a bit special, isn’t it? When she saw me, she came running, crying¹⁰. We both shed happy tears, hugging each other. I was glad that I had contacted her before going there.

  We enjoyed the ride back home together. Really! It seemed that everybody was having fun. Many members are saying that they want to join that event again next year.

  … and I have one more reason to go back again. This time I bought a hand-made wool sheep from a wool artist in Utsunomiya. I want to make a herd of¹¹ them so I have to go back and get some more. Don’t you think it would be fun to get one every year? (^-^)
