  At the beginning of December, like other people, I was saying, "it doesn’t seem like Christmas and the New Year are coming in a month," but now we are here — New Year’s Eve. I’m sure that everybody had hectic¹ days toward the end of the year (or maybe still now, toward the new year’s holiday).

  In our case,
  2 days ago, we had a belated² Christmas party with my family.
　　

  … and yesterday was our last day of work, and also we finished sending out the very last bunch³ of new year’s cards yesterday morning.

  …and finally today we were free from⁴ everything (except me making the final exams for school).

  After enjoying our slow morning, we headed for⁵ AEON in Rifu just for a change⁶. (Believe it or not, this was our first visit!) This is our new tradition for the last 5 years or so. We go to a big shopping mall for a few hours on the 31st and purely enjoy pooping around⁷.

  We usually don’t have anything special we want to buy. We just walk around. If something grabs us⁸, we might buy it. We also sit down and have something to eat. — This is something we rarely do. That’s why it’s fun and very special!

  This time I found a cute lunch box and bought it. I’ll send it to my kiddo who lives overseas. It’s kind of a good luck thing but also serves a practical⁹ purpose¹⁰! And most importantly, I was happy buying this for somebody at the end of the year!
