仙台 えいごの教室

  Time flies so quickly. We are already at the end of the year. On the first weekend of December we put out our Christmas Tree in the living room and other Christmas decorations in several spots in the house. We also started using our red Christmas cups to serve tea or coffee to our adult students. 

 

 

  Outside our house, we have trees which have red berries, adding¹ a heart-warming winter feeling even though it’s cold outside. The Nanten trees have been here since before we moved in², and I planted a holly after that. Now the holly tree is quite big, so its berries are really pretty. (They are going to be food for the birds soon.)      　　                                                

 

  On Saturday night we went out in the evening, and we had a surprise. Suddenly a huge Xmas Tree showed up right in front of us. The new Tohoku Gakuin University campus prepared a Xmas Tree for us! Thank you for the fun surprise!        　                                                                             

                                                  

 

  Now there is a festive³ mood downtown Sendai with the lights-up on the Jozenji Dori street. It’s really cold now but rather⁴ I like it that we quietly appreciate⁵ this special season. ……Just one thing I wish. I wish there would be peace in the world and no people were suffering from⁶ grief⁷ or hard times. I sometimes feel guilt⁸ that only some people are able to enjoy life. 



  After Christmas we will have just a few more days to go before the new year! Please take care of yourselves.
